Patience

Yesterday, I dropped off a roll of black and white film. I’m taking a dark room printing class and had to pull out my old film camera. The absence of immediate feedback made me incredibly nervous. In one short year, I lost focus. Yes, bad. Sorry.

On the Flickr photostroll, I brought my digital camera back out. The playfulness of this group requires immediate capture & share. Over 30 of us met on the University of Washington Campus and split in search of photos. Our subgroup was about eight people and we have photos of photographers, taking photos of photographers. It’s like that spider that ate a fly? And something ate the spider?

I was worried before joining this group that a pod of photographers would feel creatively stifling. However, I’ve been incredibly surprised at how a) silly and fun it is and b) how different many of the photos turn out. In addition, we are a bad ass SLR army. People don’t mess with us.

After the stroll, the full group consumed at a coffee shop. Then a subgroup consumed at a brewery. Then a further subgroup consumed at a Mexican restaurant, then an Irish Pub and finally a bar with lighted floors and a mirrored ceiling.

Here are a few highlights
