Dancing Eyelid
Twitching eyes are crazy making things. The one in my left eye, upper lid, about 8 hours now. It's not the kind that disappears when you try to look at it. It keeps on twitching, taunting me. I am your eye, you can't massage, poke or remove me. Ha.
This afternoon at Tryst, I ran into an old co-worker. He left this year too, and without another job. We had seen the same evolution, and talked like traumatized war veterans. My eye twitch was pleased, like it had a purpose or at least something to accentuate.

What causes your eye to twitch?

Dear Merc:
As web surfers, we are all too familiar with that annoying eye tic that sometimes occurs after a long day spent in front of the computer, so we paid close attention as our search results popped up, remembering to blink every now and then for good measure.
It appears most eye twitches are harmless, involuntary spasms of the tiny muscles surrounding the eye. Some causes are fatigue, squinting a lot, consuming too much caffeine, or working in a less than ideal visual environment, e.g., staring at a computer screens for long periods of time. Just like a muscle spasm at any other part of the body, an eye twitch can mean you've taxed your muscles and need to relax them.
At home treatments that may help include hot baths, warm or cold compresses, rinsing your eyes out with warm water, or administrating eye drops.
There is more information about physical or psychological ailments, but I am not going to go there. It's just a twitch. However, if you want to read about blepharospasm, click here. I am going to ice my eyeballs.
