Not all new

Junior high, rules for back to school outfit:
  • At least half your outfit should look laid back, casual and worn. Do not wear 100% new clothes
  • Leave your brand new Coca-cola jersey sweatshirt in the closet, it's still 80 degrees
  • Watch for tags
  • Skirts and stairs, wear at your own risk
  • Shoes that click draw attention, so do new cords (which you shouldn't wear anyway, remember 80 degrees)
My online class starts next week and today, I have to post my bio, self portrait and sample photos. It's ridiculous, it's online, people can't see my jeans, and I am over 30. But I still fret a tad, dammmit.

  • Barbaric Adolescence.
Every morning I would test the "pull exposure factor" of my shorts. If they were too loose (soccer shorts for example) I would wear fitting under shorts. Seems paranoid, but in our school shorts were dropping like rain. Anyway, it worked. The one and only attempt, which occurred while I was walking to my desk in Mr. Gray's 7th grade social studies class, failed. Ha, ha, Andy with an Italian last name.

Skirts of course were entirely off limit due to "trip factor". If you wore one you were asking to be tripped in the hall. The animals considered it a ticket to a free peep show.

I thank my tom boy esthetic for allowing me to make it through junior high unscathed.

Anyway I still get nervous with introductions. I know that I have to go first or the irrational nervousness will stew and bubble. I think it would be even more challenging with an online class. You won't get that eye contact feedback that quickly settles the fret.

good luck setting up your bio!
