Check!
Yesterday was my first day back in Seattle and the first time it felt like home, a completely empty home, but still home.
I celebrated and bought a bed. I could have waffled and researched and stretched out on hundreds of beds. Instead, I went to one store, found a good bed that happened to be on sale. And poof. It's getting delivered tonight.
I also picked up my first set of books from the Seattle library. Each book had a little printed hold tag just for me, so efficient. I squeeked excitely a few times and explained the library vacuum that I lived in for 10 years. Friendly people, clean books. Ahh.
Then, I met with with the Seattle Flickr group. I had done this a few times in DC, usually around 10 people at a local bar. This group had about 30+ people and took over the main room in Irish pub. Good chatter, some photo, some not - met a guy from Detroit that photographed some of the many many abandoned buildings downtown. I am so fascinated by the decay and would love to do this, but my practical side would probably get the better of me. Plus, I don't live that close to Detroit anymore. The Flickr group is going snowshoeing in a few weeks so I get to pull out my winter gear.
Fed ex ground delivery tomororow. I'm sure I will unpack and question my decision to ship at least half the stuff. I should have kept practical stuff - clay is not going to help me when I need a bucket and a filing cabinet. Maybe I can make everything I need with clay.
