The Name
Yes, this adult thinks too much. The blog name was an extended process for me. I wrote long lists, used random word generators and hounded my three design consultants. I wanted obscure, no simple, not too clever, wait maybe a literary reference. My internal record had started skipping. Six months were going to pass and all I would have is an indexed database of potential blog names. Plus bloodshot eyes and a crazy mumbling habit. Thankfully my boyfriend gave me a deadline and I didn’t question it.
By 1pm on Monday August 14th, I chose Oravel. It’s a mix between orange, travel and unravel. I liked the sound and the letter shapes. While traveling this summer, I wore orange sunglasses that turned wheat fields technicolor. Cloudy days became Dorothy dreams, although without dancing mountain munchkins.
Unravel is me, DC and time. Stay tuned for later posting on the flexible straw theory of time (aka accordian theory).
